How to Use Mr. Transcription
- Is Mr. Transcription free to use?
- Yes, you can use Mr. Transcription for free for a certain number of images and minutes of audio/video transcription each month.
As a free member, you can transcribe up to 10 minutes per day and 10 images per day. However, we do not guarantee updates precisely every 24 hours.
If you use the free version, only a maximum of 3 minutes of trial transcription is available. If you need to transcribe a lot of content, please consider our paid plans. - What file types are supported?
- The supported file types are as follows:
【Image Files】
File size: Less than 10MB
Supported formats: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .webp
*If the text is sideways or upside down, transcription may not be possible, so please correct the orientation.
【Document Files】
File size: Less than 50MB
Supported formats: .pdf
【Audio Files】
Audio duration: Within 90 minutes
File size: Less than 1GB
Supported formats: .mp3, .wav, .wma, .m4a, .aifc, .flac, .aac, .aiff, .aifc
【Video Files】
Audio duration: Within 90 minutes
File size: Less than 1GB
Supported formats: .mp4, .mov, .avi, .flv, .mkv, .webm, .wmv, .3gp
If your file is not in a supported format, you can convert it to a compatible format to use it.

If your video file is large, it can be automatically converted to an audio file.

- No, not particularly. You are free to use the transcribed data as you wish.
- Is installation required?
- No, no installation is required. You can use it on a web browser, so as long as you have internet access, you can use it anytime, anywhere.
- Can I use the free service for commercial purposes?
- Yes, commercial use is permitted.
- Is there an app?
- We are currently considering app support. For Android devices, you can use it like an app by selecting "Add to Home Screen."
- Is personal information required to use the service?
- If you are not a member, no personal information is required. If you register as a free or paid member, you will need to provide your email address. Registration of your name, address, etc., is not required.
- Can one person (or one corporation) have multiple accounts?
- Mr. Transcription prohibits owning multiple free accounts. You may own multiple paid accounts.
- I cannot log in to Mr. Transcription.
- Please refer to here for troubleshooting login issues.
- I cannot transcribe with Mr. Transcription.
- There are several reasons why transcription might fail. Please refer to here for troubleshooting steps when an error occurs.
Troubleshooting when an error occurs in Mr. Transcription and transcription fails - The transcription result from Mr. Transcription is unintelligible, like "aaaaa". Please refund the time.
- If the transcription result is unintelligible, such as "aaaaa", it is usually because the file contains no speech (there are periods of continuous noise or silence). Please re-check the content of your file.
If your audio file falls under "Audio files that Mr. Transcription struggles with", we cannot refund the time.
If it does not fall under this category, please contact us via error report. - What is an error report?
- We accept reports of errors and bugs occurring in Mr. Transcription. If an error report is approved, we offer a gift of 1 hour of transcription or a certain number of image transcriptions. For more details, please check [About Error Reporting for Mr. Transcription].
About Free Membership and Paid Plans
- What benefits do I get by registering for a free membership?
- Your daily transcription time will increase from 3 minutes to 10 minutes. The number of images you can transcribe daily will increase from 3 to 10.
Free users can only transcribe the first 3 minutes of audio as a trial. Please note that this is not continuous time. - Does the variety of transcription engines increase with a paid plan?
- No, the variety of transcription engines does not increase. However, for free members, transcription is limited to the first 3 minutes for each engine, and this restriction is lifted with a paid plan.
- How do I purchase a paid plan?
- You can purchase from the pricing page. For details, please see "How to purchase Mr. Transcription's paid plans (Basic, Value, Premium, Business)".
- Will the transcription time (paid plan) be reflected immediately after purchasing a paid plan?
- Yes, if paying by credit or debit card, it will be reflected within 1 to 3 minutes after purchase.
If you close the payment screen midway or encounter a redirect error, the plan may not be reflected correctly.
If you do not see your plan reflected several minutes after purchase, please contact us via inquiry. We will handle it manually (in which case, it will be resolved within 24 hours). - I purchased a paid plan, but I can only transcribe the first 3 minutes. Why?
- 1. You are logged in with the wrong account.
2. The plan was not reflected due to an error.
These are the two possibilities. First, please check your logged-in account and plan in the settings. If it's an error, please contact us via inquiry. - The file is 10 minutes long, but only the first 7 minutes are transcribed. Why?
- Please check if the uploaded file is indeed a "10-minute file." Often, users find that "I thought it was a 10-minute file, but it was actually 7 minutes." If you are certain you uploaded a 10-minute file and it's not transcribing, please report the error.
- I have used up all my transcription time while on a paid plan. What should I do if I want to purchase additional transcription time?
- Please cancel your current plan once, and then re-subscribe to your desired plan from the pricing page.
- I want to cancel my recurring subscription for a paid plan.
- You can cancel anytime after logging in, from the "Cancel" button on the settings screen. For details, please see "How to cancel Mr. Transcription's paid plan".
- I want to withdraw my account, what should I do?
- After logging in to Mr. Transcription, please proceed with the withdrawal process using the "Withdraw" button on the settings screen. Please note that once you withdraw, you will no longer be able to log in to Mr. Transcription. Also, you cannot re-register with the same email address after withdrawing.

- What paid plans are available?
- Basic Plan: 1000 JPY/month
Audio: 24 hours/month
Images: 1000 images/month
Value Plan: 2000 JPY/month
Audio: 60 hours/month
Images: 2500 images/month
Premium Plan: 3000 JPY/month
Audio: 120 hours/month
Images: 6000 images/month

- There is no minimum contract period. You can cancel at any time.
- What payment methods are accepted?
- We accept credit card payments, debit card payments, and bank transfers.
Bank transfers are only available for annual contracts.

How to purchase Mr. Transcription's paid plans (Basic, Value, Premium) - I'd prefer a one-time purchase plan instead of a recurring subscription.
- Currently, we only offer recurring subscriptions. We will consider future requests and feedback to adjust our plan offerings.
- Is the recurring subscription billed monthly?
- Due to the payment system, billing occurs every 30 days (one month). However, the billing date may shift by approximately one day due to payment system specifications.
Please check the email sent by the payment system for the exact next billing date.
Our system displays the billing date as +30 days from the last payment date. - I want to change my paid plan. What should I do?
- Please cancel your current plan once, then re-subscribe to your desired plan from the pricing plans page.
- How do I cancel my subscription?
- To cancel your paid plan, log in to Mr. Transcription, click the Settings → Cancel link, and easily submit your cancellation request. You can cancel by yourself 24 hours a day.
A clear cancellation guide with images is available on this page. - What happens to my available image count and transcription minutes after canceling a paid plan?
- Your current available image count and minutes will be retained for 30 days from the last payment.
On the next renewal date, it will revert to the free plan's transcription time (10 minutes/day) and image count (10/day). Also, when updated to the free plan, the maximum transcription time per file will be 3 minutes. - After canceling my paid plan, I withdrew from Mr. Transcription. Now I can't log in?
- If you withdraw, you will never be able to log in or re-register with Mr. Transcription using that account again. If you wish to continue using the service, please do not withdraw.
- Can I get a quote or invoice?
- We only issue quotes and invoices for annual contracts paid via bank transfer. This service is only available in Japanese.

How to issue quotes and invoices for Mr. Transcription - If I pay by bank transfer, who covers the transfer fees?
- Transfer fees are the responsibility of the customer. Please be aware of this in advance.
- I accidentally created multiple invoices. How can I delete them?
- You cannot delete or cancel invoices yourself. If you have accidentally created multiple invoices, please contact us to request deletion.
- Can I get a receipt?
- We issue receipts according to the payment method as described below. The method of issuing receipts varies depending on the payment method. For more details on receipts, please see here.
- Do unused transcription minutes carry over to the next month?
- Unused minutes and image counts are reset each month and do not carry over to the next month.
About Specifications and Security
- Will uploaded images, audio, or videos be used for other purposes?
- We may use them as statistical data for improving speech recognition technology and for research and development, such as for error verification and transcription accuracy checks by a limited number of our employees. However, we will never make audio content public or provide data or transcribed text to third parties.
Audio and transcribed text data will be stored on our servers from the upload date for:
Non-members: 1 day
Free members: 30 days
Paid members: Until the member deletes their history
After this period, they will be deleted.
The AI engine is designed not to retain logs. Your images, audio, videos, and text will not be used for unintended purposes. - How long does transcription take?
- Processing audio and images takes approximately the same amount of time as the input data.
Example: 60 minutes of audio data → approximately 60 minutes of processing time - Can I transcribe only a part of the audio or an image?
- All uploaded audio and images will be transcribed. You cannot specify which part to transcribe.
We recommend pre-processing by:
・Keeping the audio source to only the part you want to transcribe,
・Cropping images to only the part you want to transcribe. - I transcribed the wrong file. Can I cancel it midway?
- Cancellation is not possible, whether the transcription is in progress or already completed.
Transcription processing begins immediately when you click the transcribe button. Please confirm that it is the correct file before clicking the transcribe button.
Even if you process the same file multiple times or realize it was the wrong file, the AI performs transcription from scratch each time you click the transcribe button. Therefore, it consumes transcription time. - I deleted my transcription history. Can I transcribe the same file again?
- Please change the file name by at least one character before uploading and transcribing.
If the file name is the same, the system is designed to recognize it as a previously transcribed file and will not transcribe it again.
*This is because many users were troubled by accidentally uploading the same file. - Can I transcribe song lyrics?
- Mr. Transcription supports transcribing conversations. Song lyrics cannot be transcribed.
- Can I edit subtitle files?
- Even if you edit the content on Mr. Transcription's web page, the changes will not be reflected in the subtitle file.
If you want to edit the subtitle content, download the subtitle file and edit it directly using an application like Notepad. - What kind of content cannot be transcribed?
- Mr. Transcription is not recommended for accurate transcription of:
・Audio that is too quiet or difficult to hear due to a distant microphone
・Content with music, such as song lyrics
・Audio where speech is drowned out by excessive noise
・Content with no audio
・Content with strong dialects
・Audio that is difficult for humans to hear
Additionally, it cannot transcribe multiple languages from audio where multiple languages are mixed.

- Transcription processing will be performed in the specified language.
It is not possible to transcribe multiple languages from audio where multiple languages are mixed. - Is it okay if there are dialects?
- The transcription accuracy will be lower for content with intonations that differ from standard Japanese. We recommend audio with standard Japanese pronunciation, good recording conditions, and no overlapping conversations among multiple people.

- You cannot specify the transcription style.
- I want to delete uploaded data. Where can I do that?
- Data will be automatically deleted from our server according to the following schedule from the upload date:
Non-members: 1 day
Free members: 30 days
However,
Paid members: Data is stored on our server until the member deletes their history.

- PDFs are counted by page number (e.g., if one file has 10 pages, it counts as 10 images).

- Can companies use Mr. Transcription?
- Yes, it is available for corporate use.
- I'd like to know more. Can I inquire by phone or have a web meeting?
- We apologize, but inquiries are only accepted via email.
- Can you fill out our security sheet?
- Yes, we can. There are two ways to complete security-related documents:
1. Please fill out the security checklist yourself, referring to the completed sheet provided by us.
2. If we need to review or fill in the content on our end, we can do so for a fee.

- We apologize, but we do not support mailing all documents. We only handle some document completion, such as PDF transmission, for those with a paid plan. Please note that we may decline any requests for multiple documents or documents that are not supported. Thank you for your understanding.
- Can you provide logs?
- We provide logs if there is a court order.
We do not provide logs otherwise. - Are the usage methods, rules, and fees different for corporations and individuals?
- Whether you are a corporation, a sole proprietor, or an individual, the usage methods, rules, and fees are the same.
- What kind of companies are adopting Mr. Transcription?
- Manufacturers, advertising agencies, web production companies, system development companies, online shop operators, consultants, professionals (e.g., lawyers, accountants), housing and real estate, food and beverage related, education, universities, local governments and public organizations, general organizations, and more. Various companies are utilizing our service. The scale of organizations and groups ranges from large enterprises with tens of thousands of employees to many small and medium-sized businesses and sole proprietors.
- When using Mr. Transcription for corporate purposes, how many people can use one account?
- If employees share an account, up to 10 devices in total can log in with one account. Simultaneous logins are also possible.
- Can I use Mr. Transcription for commercial purposes even with the free plan? Is there any difference for corporations compared to individuals?
- Yes, that's fine. The usage methods are the same for both individuals and corporations.
- I only want to use it for a few months. Can I pay by bank transfer?
- For a few months, please use credit card or debit card payment.
If you cannot use card payment, we only support bank transfers for annual contracts. - The usage time I need, such as 100 hours, is not in the pricing plans and is quite extensive. How should I purchase it? Are there any discounts?
- If you need a large amount of usage time, please cancel your current plan once and then re-subscribe to your desired plan from the pricing plan page. Alternatively, please subscribe to a plan valid for one year (annual contract plan).
